Facials

A basic facial is a luxurious way to take care of your skin. The process of cleansing, exfoliating, and treating your skin with a custom mask leaves you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Not to mention, it's a great way to relax and pamper yourself and spend time with friends and family. Facials are also an excellent way to fight the signs of aging. Regular facials can help to diminish wrinkles, fine lines, and dark spots. If you're looking for a way to treat yourself and take care of your skin, a basic facial is a great place to start.

Facials Help You Look Good And Feel Good

Anyone who's ever had a facial knows that they not only leave you looking good, but feeling good as well. They are more than about beauty, they are also a booster for your physical and mental health. There's just something about being pampered and taking care of your skin that makes you feel good all over.

Just some of the many benefits include:

  • Reduced stress
  • A sense of well-being
  • Unclog pores for less acne
  • Cleared away dead skin cells
  • Hydrated skin

Facials can be a great way to relax and rejuvenate, and there are plenty of different types to choose from depending on your skin type and needs. From deep cleansing to anti-aging, there's a facial out there that's perfect for you.

What Happens During A Facial?

1. Cleansing

Estheticians always begin a facial by cleansing the skin. This helps to remove any dirt, makeup, or other impurities that could inhibit the results of the facial. Estheticians will use a gentle cleanser and massage it into the face, neck, and décolletage. They will then remove the cleanser using warm water and a facial sponge, cloth, or cotton pad. Once the skin is clean, they will dry it off and evaluate it to determine what type of custom mask they will apply later. This step is essential in order to ensure that the facial is tailored to the specific needs of the client. By starting with a clean slate, Estheticians can ensure that the facial is as effective as possible.

2. Exfoliation

Your Esthetician then will buff away dead skin cells with an exfoliating cream or scrub. This step helps to reveal fresh, glowing skin and can also help your skincare products to better penetrate the surface. Next, your Esthetician may open up pores with steam in order to more deeply cleanse the skin.

3. Extractions

This is a process where an Esthetician will clear out individual pores that have become clogged with excess oil or dead skin cells. They can do this either by hand or with a special metal tool. Most people say it feels like a little pressure, and after it's done your skin will feel so much better.

4. Massage

A facial typically lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half, and includes a variety of steps to cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize the skin. Many facials also include a massage of the face, neck, and shoulders. This massage may be used to improve lymphatic drainage and promote relaxation. It can also help to increase circulation and ease tension headaches. While there are many different types of facials available, they all share the common goal of leaving the skin looking and feeling its best.
